Rabbit Vaccinations - update
You have heard that there is a new vaccination available. ‘Yurvac RHD’ which covers both RHD 1 and 2 and includes the new strain of Highly virulent RHD which is not covered by the current Myxo RHD plus Vaccination.
The new vaccination is not currently available to vets readily, I know that I enquired for my rabbit at my own vets, and it is currently on order still. Due to this I can not enforce a vaccine currently to all rabbit boarders that is not accessible. It is recommended that when the new vaccine is available scheduling for the new and previous vaccine will be two weeks apart and then at 6 monthly intervals to ensure maximum cover.
We will continue to ensure rabbits boarding are fully vaccinated and strict biosecurity measures followed to reduce risk. Please make sure your vaccinations are up to date.
Please note I will issue further guidance and my policy on this in time. Thank you for your understanding.
